Explain what the learner is being asked to do, what they need to provide and how the activity will take place. Use consistent names for documents and resources. If instructions refer to another item, make that item easy to find.

Check the sequence with someone who did not write it. Ask them to explain what they would do first and what they would submit. Their interpretation may uncover an assumption the author no longer notices.

Clear instructions should explain the task without supplying the answer or replacing the assessment requirements. Questions about assessment design and suitability should be addressed through the provider’s review process. The aim is to make expectations understandable while preserving the purpose of the activity.
